Tctv were delighted today to meet Elizabeth Mitchell, the producer of Bro' Town. She came to St. Pius school to talk to the students there and from other schools in the area about the process they go through to create an episode of the top New Zealand show. Two of our Year 12 students, Mikaira and Francis, were at the talk and they found it very interesting to hear how Bro' Town was started and how they created the characters for the show. We saw videos of how an episode was put together and we were delighted to see a special video from Oscar Knightley with a message for the students. Highlights included :- seeing how they used photographs of the actors to help develop how the characters looked, seeing early versions of the characters and how they have changed and seeing how they get from their initial ideas through to the final episodes.
We are really delighted here at Tamaki College to be celebrating over 1000 visitors since we started in April this year. Well done to all the students who have worked hard at TCTV this year !!!

TCTV talks to Flossy Tangata, who reports back from her experience at Outward Bounds.
Being at outward bound was a really great experience for me. I left Auckland on the 2nd of August 2008 knowing that I had no confidence in myself and knowing I didn’t believe in myself. Being at outward bound for 21 days changed my life. It made me build up my confidence and helped me believe in my self a lot more. It was very challenging for me and others at outward bound. At first it was hard for me but in the end it was worth the hard work and I completed it to the end.
The things we did at outward bound were tramping, kayaking, sailing, rock climbing and high ropes. We also did a six day journey and we walked 71 km in four days. It was really hard and was really challenging when we sailed from Ship’s Cove all the way back to Anakiwa.
If I was to recommend this to others, I would say go hard and do the best you can and enjoy every minute that you can. This changes peoples life’s like it changed mine.
The Tamaki College school ball was held on Saturday 16th August. The event was held at Romfords at the Tamaki Yacht Club.
