It was a fun night last night at Tamaki College. Students from when the school was first opened came back for a 55th anniversary reunion. The auditorium was set up with school photographs from past years in the 1950's and 1960's and people were soon labeling them with the names that they remembered. It was a very busy event with lots of happy meetings between old friends.
The Tamaki College catering class did a fabulous job of keeping everyone supplied with very tasty treats all night. They had spent all day preparing everything fresh.
Next year's prefects had their first job. They were greeting people as they arrived at the college and escorted them to the auditorium. Lots of stories were being told to the students on those walks from the car parks.
A fun point of the night was recreating the school photographs from various years, starting from 1957.
ntwestiv our thanks to Kathryn Moore and her team for such a fantastic effort, The college for hosting our evening,
ReplyDeleteand the past pupils who attended - making the night such a great night out

A great evening at a very different school than we attended in it's formative years. However, it is in good hands and I was impressed with the kids who looked after us, they were delightful and a pleasure to talk to. The '60s music got a few of us moving and bought back memories of our youth. Thanks toall for your efforts. Ian Sowman.
